Tudor Pro Cycling's Dainese secures his first victory of the season
Stage 3 of Region Pays de la Loire Tour has been won by Alberto Dainese. The sprinter from Tudor Pro Cycling rounded off teamwork perfectly.
This victory marks Dainese's breakthrough in France after two consecutive days finishing in 5th place. It stands as his first triumph of the season.
Looking back on his win, Dainese expressed his happiness, saying: “The final lap was quite intense. The first time we came into the circuit we said: 'wow, it’s gonna be hectic.'"
"However," he continued, "the team performed exceptionally well. We maintained good positions throughout, and they helped me very well."
"But the guys rode really well. We were always in a good position, and they did a perfect job," Dainese complimented his Tudor Pro Cycling teammates.
"This win is truly special, and it's so nice to see that all the hard work done in winter finally paid off. We started the season well in Mallorca, working on my lead-out train, but unfortunately, I had a bad accident which stopped me from racing for 2 months. Moreover, my grandma passed away recently, so my thoughts are with her."
Tomorrow marks the last stage of the Region Pays de la Loire Tour. The course profile seems harder than today's stage; however, a mass sprint remains a possibility.
